Cold weather riding gear
The Victorian high country is subject to extreme weather changes so be prepared for all conditions
Necessary tools for your bike
Heavy duty tubes / Spares
Ours are more expensive if required
ALSO REALLY IMPORTANT…
Valid Motorcycle licence
All Riders must have a current motorcycle licence (Motorcycle learners is acceptable). Bikes are required to be registered (Rec reg is acceptable).
Please come with a full tank of fuel
We will supply top up fuel during the day. You will need to fill up your own tank at the end of the each day on multi day rides, we can carry your jerry can in our support vehicle alternatively you can ride to a nearby servo
We have certain bike requirements to come on our trips, this is not to exclude anyone it is to ensure a smooth successful trip for all riders. If we allow poorly maintained bikes to come chances are they will brake down in the middle of the high country somewhere, obviously we understand even a brand new bike can brake down but we want to minimise these mechanicals for the enjoyment of all riders on the tour. We do have a support vehicle that can pick up broken down bikes however we will always lose time trying to get bikes running again so the rider does not miss out.
Adventure bike requirements
No bald tyres, at least a 50/50 road dirt tyre, preferably more dirt orientated
Heavy duty tubes or tubeless (if you choose to run tubeless you must carry repair plugs and a heavy duty front tube incase the damage is too big for a plug. A front tube will work in the rear to get you out of trouble.)
Ensure chain and sprockets have plenty of life left in them
Check wheel bearings don't need to be replaced
Check spoke tension
Check for leaking fork seals
Ensure you have plenty of life left in brake pads
Again this checklist is not to be a pain it is for your own enjoyment, the high country can be unforgiving, we want to get you there and back.
Tour guides have recovery and first aid equipment but we recommend that you also have your own if possible.
We also highly recommend you have current personal and vehicle insurance as our insurance does not cover this.
We highly recommend taking out Vic Ambulance cover if you don't already have it. It is cheap insurance and can be expensive if you are not covered and an ambulance is needed.
Bring the family
There are loads of accommodation options in Bright and surrounds with endless entertainment options and things to do for the family while you’re out getting dirty. We can help with some great recommendations.
